Bring Ball Hockey to Your School

The Tampa Bay Lightning is excited to launch our new Ball Hockey Club League and invite schools to participate in organized competition against other schools in their local community. This league provides students with an opportunity to develop their skills, represent their school, and experience the excitement of team competition in a fun and inclusive environment.

League Overview

The Ball Hockey Club League is designed to provide schools with a structured and affordable opportunity to offer hockey programming to their students. Participating schools will compete against neighboring schools throughout an 8-game regular season while receiving league support, equipment, and coaching resources.

League Details

• League Play Begins: February 2027
• 8-Game Regular Season
• One Game Per Week
• Games Played on Weekdays
• Game Times Begin at 6:00 PM
• Days and times will vary by location
• Games will be played at outdoor ball hockey rinks nearest to your school
• Grade levels vary by county

What the Tampa Bay Lightning Provides

Participating schools will receive league support, including:

• Coach training and resources through USA Ball Hockey
• Coaching stipend provided
• League scheduling and standings
• Referees and scorekeepers
• Team shirts
• Medals for championship game
• FREE donated helmets, gloves, and shin pads to participating schools for players to use

Playoff Format

Following the regular season:

• Top four teams from each rink will qualify for the playoffs
• Single-elimination playoff format

Important Information

• Players will be required to purchase a $30 USA Ball Hockey membership to participate in the league.
• Coaches will be required to have a USA Ball Hockey membership ($30) and complete USA Ball Hockey background check ($25) which will be covered by the Tampa Bay Lightning
• Coaches will be required to complete abuse awareness 
• Space is limited for the inaugural season.
• Submission of a registration form does not guarantee participation.
• Schools will be accepted based on league capacity, geographic considerations, and registration numbers.
• Additional league details, schedules, and division information will be provided to accepted schools.

• Middle Schools (dependent on county)
• After-School Programs
• Existing School Hockey Clubs

No previous hockey experience is required.

Complete the registration form below to be considered for participation in the upcoming season by December 1st. Schools will be notified if they have been accepted to participate in the league 1 - 2 weeks after registration closes.
